• Ask your Pastor or Youth Leader for your church’s Transfer Code. When registering your camper, the Transfer Code applies the camp scholarships received through your church to your camper’s account. Camp does not give out transfer codes.
• Deposit: In order to guarantee your child’s spot you must have $100 down.
• Final payment: Full payment is due one week before your child’s camp session. If that is not possible you are welcome to pay during drop-off.
• Refunds/Cancellations: You may cancel your child’s camp session and receive full refund up to one month before the start of the camp session. If you cancel within a month or less, we will keep the deposit.
• Contact Dianne at licbusiness@islandcamp.org or 218-583-2905 for any questions regarding registration and payment.
• It is the parent’s responsibility to make sure their camper’s account is paid in full.
• Drop off begins at 3:30 pm on Sunday afternoon.
• In order for the drop off process to be smooth and efficient for everyone, we ask that you will have completed the Health and Release form, final payment, and put money into your child’s Canteen account in advance.
• Please note that you will not be able to put Canteen money into your camper’s account upon drop off. This means that if you wish for your camper to participate in Canteen throughout the week, you must prepay. For questions please call the office at 218-583-2905.
• During drop off, we will collect your campers medications. Please be ready to relay any pertinent information/instructions to the employee in charge of collecting the medications.
• Once we’ve confirmed your registration, campers will be given their cabin assignments and will get to meet their counselor.
• Pickup begins at 10:30am on Friday at our Closing Service in the Chapel.
• After the Closing Service: retrieve your camper, and their belongings by their cabin. There are no physical canteen refunds to pick up. Please see the canteen section for more information.
• Please double check that your child has the correct luggage and that all their belongings have been packed.
• Campers will not be permitted to leave until their cabin is cleaned.
• All canteen items are $1.50 except water which is $1.00.
• Campers are allowed three items per canteen once a day which means the maximum they can spend is $18 for the whole week.
• Canteen and Camp Store will be open after closing service for snacks and souvenirs.
• New Canteen refund procedures: Parents go to the Canteen after closing service, fill out a slip of paper with their preferred leftover money option. The options are 1) donate to camp 2) spend it in the camp store 3) camp mails a check with the amount-minus a $3 service charge 4) reverse to credit card (if applicable)-minus $3 service charge.
• Campers who have elected to do horseback riding will need to be wearing closed toed shoes and long pants in order to participate.
• Campers who enroll in horseback riding are expected to participate. Those who opt out of horseback riding the week of camp will not be refunded the $25 fee.
• Camp Cell Phone Policy: Cell phones are NOT allowed at Camp Indianhead. Please make sure your camper leaves their cell phone at home. Please do not allow or encourage your camper to sneak in a cell phone. If they have one it will be taken away and put in the office until the end of the camp session.
• If you’d like to send a note to your camper you can email it to campermail52@gmail.com. We then print the emails and give them to your child at meal times. Campers love to get mail!
• If you are planning to mail letters or packages to your camper please do so at the very beginning of the week. If you mail them Tuesday or later your child will be gone before the mail is delivered.
• Be sure to pack: Sleeping bag (or, blanket & bed sheets), pillow, pillow-case, towel, wash cloth, jacket, flashlight, swimsuit (see dress policy below), clothing for outdoor activities, bag for dirty laundry, rain gear, chap stick, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, and other toiletry articles, sun screen, insect repellant, Bible, pen or pencil, formal clothes for the Camper banquet on Thursday night, and closed toe running shoes for outdoor activities and trail rides.
• Do not Bring food of any kind (this attracts unwanted “guests” in the cabins). Any kind of weapon (including knives) or illegal substance is strictly forbidden.
• Camp Dress Code and Swim Suit Policy: Our choice of clothing is an opportunity to honor the God who gave us the gift of our bodies and to show love to those around us. Please keep this in mind as you plan for the week. Pack clothing that is not too tight or revealing. Female swimsuits should cover most of the midsection. Clothing should not promote drugs, alcohol or suggestive innuendos. If someone is dressed in a way that dishonors God or their neighbor, they will be asked to change or wear a t-shirt over their swimsuit.
Review the following rules with your camper prior to attending Camp Indianhead:
• Campers will respect authority. This includes all Pastors, Counselors, Jr. Counselors and Lutheran Island Camp Staff. Campers are required to be with their counselor and cabin group at all times unless given permission
from their counselor or participating in a group event. In such cases, campers will abide by the rule of three.
• Campers will respect each other. Campers are expected to treat each other with Christ-centered decency and respect. Campers will not visit the cabins of the opposite gender; neither will they show public displays of affection, nor will they attempt to leave their cabins at night.
• Campers will respect Lutheran Island Camp property. Part of camp is teaching good stewardship. Vandalism or any form of destruction of property will not be tolerated. The directors reserve the right to pass any fines due to damaged property onto the responsible camper’s family. If no “guilty party” can be determined, the entire cabin will be responsible for covering the fine. This includes fines incurred for leaving a messy cabin.
• Failure to obey these rules will result in expulsion from camp activities and/or immediate dismissal from camp.
Parents will be notified by Camp Staff and asked to pick up their camper immediately. No refund will be granted.
Camp directors reserve the right to ban applicants from Camp Indianhead based on prior year’s behavior.
