Who We Are

Our History

Since 1952, Camp Indianhead has brought this faith-deepening experience to thousands of campers. Many who attend Camp Indianhead become lifelong friends and even family later in life. We have seen generations of youth continue to grow in faith and discipleship many years after attending camp. We look forward to future generations of Camp Indianhead goers.

Our Mission

Camp Indianhead exists to create a Christ Centered Confessional Lutheran camp experience for the youth of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Youth ages 11-16 come to enjoy Christian fellowship, time in God’s creation, and grow in their relationship with their Savior.

Camp Life

Digging Deeper into the Word

Campers will take a deeper dive into God’s Word through Bible Studies, Worship Services, and Nightly Devotions.

Campfire Songs

You can’t have a summer camp without campfire songs!  Campers will be singing these fun songs well after heading home.

team Building activities

Utilizing the love of healthy competition, our team building activities help campers develop creative problem solving while getting to know fellow campers as they work together.

Fun

Our campers have fun!  Whether it’s playing gaga ball, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, or the hunger games, having fun at the lake, or singing 40 Years On An Iceberg and The Bungalow songs, there is never a dull moment at camp.

Pastors / Staff

Camp Indianhead is staffed by the best Pastors and Laypeople in the ELS.  Without their hard work and dedication, camp would be total chaos!

Pastor Joshua Mayer
Director

Pastor Mayer oversees camp programming and general administration. Each year he coordinates efforts between the hosting campground and the area congregations. During the week of camp he coordinates with counselors to make sure campers get the best experience out of camp.

Pastor Shawn Stafford
Director

Pastor Staffored oversees camp life. Each year he is responsible for building the team of counselors and junior counselors who serve our campers during the week. During camp, Pastor Stafford oversees the housing, registration, quality care, and safety for our campers.

Josh Skogen
Chaplain

Pastor Skogan oversees camp spiritual life. Each year he selects the Bible Study curriculum and plans the chapel services. During the week of camp, Pastor Skogan coordinates the clergy for Bible Studies, chapel services, and cabin devotions.

Lance Johnson
Media Director

Lance coordinates Camp Indianhead’s media and social media during Camp. He takes video and photos of various camp activities and posts in on our facebook page, so parents can see our camp activities.
